GOD, OUR REFUGE (II)

*GOD, OUR REFUGE* (II)
_Key Bible Text:_
*And the LORD said, I have surely seen the affliction of my people which are in Egypt, and have heard their cry by reason of their taskmasters; for I know their sorrows;* (Exodus 3:7 (KJV))
_Bible Insight:_
God is the defender of the defenseless. He is the helper of the helpless. He is the keeper of the deserted. He is the one that makes all the difference when situations appear hopeless and pointless. God is the one that makes a meaning out of the most meaningless situation. When we think all hope is lost, he comes back with a bigger and better plan from the very same hopeless situation.
When the devil thought he had had Jesus killed, he didn't realized he had advanced God's divine project of salvation. This is no different with how God relates with his people today. We saw it in Genesis when the Israelites called out to God for intervention. He made hope out of no hope.
There is still hope. The Lord will turn this situation around for good. We can choose to believe this, or we can choose to remain downcast. We can choose to see God working this situation around for good, especially as we lift our voices in prayers. God still answers prayers. Salvation is coming out of this situation.
MEDITATION:
*We see in scriptures great oppression every time there is the birthing of salvation for a nation. In the old testament, a king ordered the massacre of all male babies. Yet all the oppression did not stop what God was doing. Not only was deliverance birthed. He grew up in the corridors of power, right in the king's house.* -- Ebele UzoPeters
