Gospel & Welfare

*DAILY DEW 18TH/NOVEMBER/2020*

*Gospel & Welfare*

_Key Bible Text:_
*That evening his disciples came to him and said, "It is already very late, and this is a lonely place. Send the people away and let them go to the villages to buy food for themselves." "They don't have to leave," answered Jesus. "You yourselves give them something to eat!".* (Matthew 14:15-16 (GNB))

_Bible Insight:_
My wife always clamours for something to give the villagers, especially the children whenever we go out for an missions outreach.
Jesus, the bread of life, the light of the world and the good shepherd gave us a great example even when it comes to preaching the gospel and taking care of the welfare of the people.

The story in our text today is remembered as the five loaves and two fishes miracle or the twelve baskets miracle or the feeding of the five thousand men (without counting the women & children). As missionaries and evangelists, preaching should be balanced with material and welfare packages for the people, every once in a while.

This shows the holistic nature of God and the Gospel. The salvation that God gives caters for man in a "spirit, soul and body" capacity. Seek out every opportunity today to partake in the next gospel outreach program that is around you. If there is none, organize one. Never be satisfied being a Christian without reaching out to the lost, suffering and perishing!

MEDITATION:
*And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.* (Matthew 4:19 (KJV))
