*LIVING IN THE EXPECTATION OF HIS COMING* (2)

_Key Bible Text:_
*Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.* (1 John 3:2-3 (KJV))

_Bible Insight:_
Christmas is a time to remember that Christ came to live, die and resurrect from death as a means of completing the work of salvation of humanity. That's the most compassionate work of divinity: God sent Jesus, and Jesus was resurrected by the power of the Holy Spirit. 

However, that's not all there is to Christmas (or any other season) because Christ promised that He was going to come back again. So the question is, "what's the best approach to take as we expect His return?". Our key text says, whoever has this hope in him, purifies himself. This is not something God does for us in a sense. This is a purification process that we have to do. 

This purification takes different shape. Sometimes, it is by examining ourselves. Then, confessing and repenting from known sins. It is not excusing secret sins. It is not living in willful sinful ways only because forgiveness is promised. It is not getting your heart exposed to the cares of this world and the deceitfulness of riches. And there is more. 

MEDITATION:
*My dear friends, we are now God's children, but it is not yet clear what we shall become. But we know that when Christ appears, we shall be like him, because we shall see him as he really is. Everyone who has this hope in Christ keeps himself pure, just as Christ is pure.* (1John 3:2-3 (GNB))

*DAILY DEW 24TH/DECEMBER/2021* *TRUSTING AGAINST ALL ODDS* _Key Bible Text:_ *"Though he slay me, yet will I trust in him: but I will maintain mine own ways before him."* (Job 13:15 (KJV))  _Bible Insight:_ It's an uphill task trying to understand God's plan, especially when we can't make logical sense of what we see happening to and around us. But we aren't instructed to understand His plans, but to TRUST HIM and be secure in the knowledge that He's working everything to ultimately turn out for our good.  God won't mismanage your life. Trust Him with it and be willing and quick to obey His instructions even when they don't fit into your parameter of what's logical.
