How Do I Walk In The Spirit?

*DAILY DEW 20TH/JANUARY/2021*

*How Do I Walk In The Spirit?*

_Key Bible Text:_
*There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.* (Romans 8:1 (KJV))

_Bible Insight:_
We all have different temperaments that make us vulnerable to certain temptations and sins, all of which can be overcome by the strength of the fruit of the Spirit, producing both a better and happier lifestyle. This strength comes when we move from being filled to actually walking in the Spirit.

Being filled with the Holy Spirit and walking in the Spirit are not the same thing. Both are essential to the Christian life, and both are commanded by Scripture. "And do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; *but be filled with the Spirit"* (Ephesians 5:18) *"Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh"* (Gal 5:16) "What is the difference between 'walking in the Spirit' and 'being filled with the Spirit'?" Actually, one is the outgrowth of the other.

You cannot "walk in the Spirit" (I.e. live in the control of the Spirit on a daily basis) until you are "filled with the Spirit". That experience is akin to drinking as much water as you can and then walking in the energy of that life-giving water. Eventually, you will need to drink more so your body will have sufficient fluid to walk farther. And so it is with the Spirit. You will need many fillings of the Spirit in order to walk continuously in His control.

MEDITATION:
*You must first be filled by the Spirit before you can walk in the Spirit. The more filled you are, the more consistently you will walk in the Spirit*
