*How To Be Controlled By The Spirit*

_Key Bible Text:_
*For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.* (Romans 8:14 (KJV))

_Bible Insight:_
Today there is a good deal of unnecessary confusion about how to be filled with or controlled by the Holy Spirit. Some theologically oriented ministers have made it so mysterious and complex that the average person can neither understand nor enjoy the experience. 

Other experience-oriented people tell their story with such animation and excitement that the rest of us feel rather inadequate because ours wasn't nearly that thrilling. Besides, they are relating a personal reaction which reflects the temperament and expectations of an individual. For that reason, it is more profitable to look into the Word of God and seek the Bible's teachings, shunning both preconceived ideas and the personal experiences of others. 

Surprisingly enough, it is really not difficult to be filled with the Spirit if you are a Christian. (It is impossible, of course, if you're not.) *God does not make His commands arduous, nor do we have to beg Him to permit us to do something He has already ordered us to do.* We do have to meet His conditions, however, and the major condition to being filled with or controlled by the Spirit is complete surrender to His will. 

In its simplest form, being filled with the Spirit is a matter of obedience to every decree of God. That is why Spirit-controlled Christians can always be expected to obey the Bible. It is the clearest revelation of God's will. No one can establish a set pattern for implementing the Spirit-controlled life. However, in the course of this series, we shall share simple steps which some have claimed changed their lives. Hopefully, these steps will prove helpful to you as well.  

MEDITATION:
*That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.* (Romans 8:4 (KJV))

*DAILY DEW 24TH/DECEMBER/2021* *TRUSTING AGAINST ALL ODDS* _Key Bible Text:_ *"Though he slay me, yet will I trust in him: but I will maintain mine own ways before him."* (Job 13:15 (KJV))  _Bible Insight:_ It's an uphill task trying to understand God's plan, especially when we can't make logical sense of what we see happening to and around us. But we aren't instructed to understand His plans, but to TRUST HIM and be secure in the knowledge that He's working everything to ultimately turn out for our good.  God won't mismanage your life. Trust Him with it and be willing and quick to obey His instructions even when they don't fit into your parameter of what's logical.
