STARTING THE YEAR WELL
*DAILY DEW 1ST/JANUARY/2021*
*STARTING THE YEAR WELL*
_Key Bible Text:_
*Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.* (Philippians 4:8 (KJV))
_Bible Insight:_
Wondering what you should stop doing in the new year? Or what you should continue with? Or what you should improve on? You're absolutely on the right path if you are thinking about these things. As we enter the new year, it is appropriate to review your routine schedules. It is important you ask yourself some serious questions, such as, "Am I daily occupying myself with the right schedules?"; "If I continue this year with the same set of activities I was doing last year, where will it take me in the next one year, three years or five years?"
Sometimes, you don't know exactly if you are making progress or retrogress. It is actually important to find a way to assess how well you are doing or how well you have performed over a period of time in the past. There are different criteria or yardsticks you can use to check on your level of progress. One of them that surely help is to think about the things you have been doing and if they align with Philippians 4:8.
Although Philippians 4:8 talks about what to think about, by now you should know that our actions are really a product of our thoughts. Therefore, you can examine Philippians 4:8 side by side with your routine activities to see if they do pass the test. For instance, we at the Daily Dew Devotional have been asking some serious questions such as, "Should we continue these Daily Dew Devotionals or should we stop?" To answer this question, the Lord led us to Philippians 4:8.
*_Are the Daily Dew Devotional write ups true, honest, just, pure, lovely, of good report, virtuous, and praise worthy?_*
MEDITATION:
*Would you take a moment and answer the question above, with either a "yes", or "no" or "I don't know".*
