Starting The Year With God
*DAILY DEW 2ND/JANUARY/2021*
*STARTING THE YEAR WITH GOD*
_Key Bible Text:_
*I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.
If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.* (John 15:5-6 (KJV))
_Bible Insight:_
Starting the year well, happens when we start the year with God. How do we start the year with God? From cross over services, to personal times of prayers as an individual, to family times of prayers, and to times of meditation and planning or goal setting all in the presence of God.
This could be by way of a personal retreat or a family retreat. Starting the year with God, is about you entering times of (personal or group or family) prayers and study of the word where time is taking to seek the face of God and to make plans for the rest of the year as God leads.
This is where fastings can also feature. Sometimes even churches take time to call for prayers or corporate gatherings. These should be done with the understanding that God must be deliberately placed at the beginning of the year's activities. These should not be done as a mere routine or religious ritual, but as an act of worship whereby we come hungry to know what God would have us do in the new year and whereby we seek to be filled with more of God.
