*STARTING THE YEAR WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT* (2)

_Key Bible Text:_
*Howbeit when He, the Spirit of truth, is come, He will guide you into all truth: for He shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever He shall hear, that shall He speak: and He will shew you things to come. He shall glorify Me: for He shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you.* (John 16:13-14 (KJV))

_Bible Insight:_
I have met gracious people who had been delivered by the Holy Spirit from some compulsive form of behavior after their conversion but, because of the testimony of other people who had some "experience" they did not have, they assumed "there must be something more" from the Holy Spirit. Other Christians, from a more rigid background, seemed to actually be afraid of the Holy Spirit. 

This makes a study and understanding of our Lord's teaching about the Holy Spirit to His disciples in John 16 an important one. There He makes it clear that it is essential for Him to return to heaven and be with the Father so the Holy Spirit could come and become our helper, comfort, peace, and wisdom. The Lord Jesus came into this world to die for us so that He could "save" us. The heavenly Father planned that entire act -- referred to as "the grace of God" or "the mercy of God". Christ is now in heaven interceding for us. 

The Holy Spirit is the only member of the Godhead who is constantly with us, for He dwells within us. *Success in the Christian life is completely impossible without the ministry of the Holy Spirit.* He is the one who leads us to Christ, convicts us (and the world) of "sin....righteousness....judgment" He is our source of truth and assurance of salvation, and He (the Holy Spirit) leads us to glorify our Lord Jesus Christ in all that we do (John 16:7-15)

*For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.* (Romans 8:14 (KJV))

*DAILY DEW 16TH/SEPTEMBER/2021* *THE WAY OF THE CROSS* (II) _Key Bible Text:_ *Who His own self bare our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.* (1 Peter 2:24 (KJV)) _Bible Insight:_ *Through Christ’s death on the cross, those who turn to Him are delivered from both the penalty and the power of sin.* (1 Peter 2:24 New American Standard Bible) What are the benefits that accrue to us from following the cross, or carrying the cross to follow Jesus? In answering this, we need to understand that it is the death and resurrection of Jesus on the cross that gives the cross its power.  "1. *DAILY DEW 24TH/DECEMBER/2021* *TRUSTING AGAINST ALL ODDS* _Key Bible Text:_ *"Though he slay me, yet will I trust in him: but I will maintain mine own ways before him."* (Job 13:15 (KJV))  _Bible Insight:_ It's an uphill task trying to understand God's plan, especially when we can't make logical sense of what we see happening to and around us. But we aren't instructed to understand His plans, but to TRUST HIM and be secure in the knowledge that He's working everything to ultimately turn out for our good.  God won't mismanage your life. Trust Him with it and be willing and quick to obey His instructions even when they don't fit into your parameter of what's logical.
