*THE FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT* (2)

_Key Bible Text:_
*(For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;)* (Ephesians 5:9 (KJV)) 

_Bible Insight:_
As a married woman, do you think you could get excited about going to the door at 5:30 P.M. (or whenever your husband arrives home from work) if you knew that when he opened it, you would be confronted with a man who, in spite of the day's pressures and ordeals, is filled with love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, and so on? What a marital switch that would be from the usual married man of five years or more who is mentally exhausted at the close of the day. 

Instead of driving home in the control of the Spirit, he is still nursing grudges, fueling a caldron of resentment, or wallowing in the spirit of self-pity -- all of which wring out and exhaust him by the time he reaches his front door. One wife who heard me ask that question replied, "Excited? I'd probably run to the door dressed in boots, apron, and Saran Wrap as Marabel Morgan suggests!" 

As a husband, do you think you could get excited at 5:30 P.M. as you pulled into driveway if you knew that no matter how pressured with babies, broken appliances, and telephone interruptions your wife had been all day, when you opened the door you would discover a woman filled with love, joy, peace, longsuffering....? 

The point is, the fruits of the Holy Spirit makes us live above our human weaknesses that make us susceptible to transfer aggression, live in malice, react with bitterness and anger, and continue with a life of simply being human. God's Holy Spirit's fruits makes us respond to issues not from the "outside" or "external factors" but from the "internal" or spirit inspired convictions.  
 
MEDITATION:
*For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.* (Galatians 5:17 (KJV))

*DAILY DEW 16TH/SEPTEMBER/2021* *THE WAY OF THE CROSS* (II) _Key Bible Text:_ *Who His own self bare our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.* (1 Peter 2:24 (KJV)) _Bible Insight:_ *Through Christ’s death on the cross, those who turn to Him are delivered from both the penalty and the power of sin.* (1 Peter 2:24 New American Standard Bible) What are the benefits that accrue to us from following the cross, or carrying the cross to follow Jesus? In answering this, we need to understand that it is the death and resurrection of Jesus on the cross that gives the cross its power.  "1. *DAILY DEW 24TH/DECEMBER/2021* *TRUSTING AGAINST ALL ODDS* _Key Bible Text:_ *"Though he slay me, yet will I trust in him: but I will maintain mine own ways before him."* (Job 13:15 (KJV))  _Bible Insight:_ It's an uphill task trying to understand God's plan, especially when we can't make logical sense of what we see happening to and around us. But we aren't instructed to understand His plans, but to TRUST HIM and be secure in the knowledge that He's working everything to ultimately turn out for our good.  God won't mismanage your life. Trust Him with it and be willing and quick to obey His instructions even when they don't fit into your parameter of what's logical.
