The Spirit of Faith Fortifies

*DAILY DEW 29TH/JANUARY/2021*

*The Spirit of Faith Fortifies*

_Key Bible Text:_
*For this reason we never become discouraged. Even though our physical being is gradually decaying, yet our spiritual being is renewed day after day. And this small and temporary trouble we suffer will bring us a tremendous and eternal glory, much greater than the trouble.* (2 Cor. 4:16-17 (GNB))

_Bible Insight:_
Let's remember the verse 15 before today's text: *"All this is for your sake; and as God's grace reaches more and more people, they will offer to the glory of God more prayers of thanksgiving."* So this gives us the context that brings in verse 16 of today. In other words, as God's grace extends to more people, more people raise prayers of thanksgiving unto God. This growth in the body of Christ, gets them to this point where they are not discouraged.

They say "even though our physical being is gradually decaying", they are not disturbed because their spirit man is renewed daily. In other words, there is a death-working-life process which makes them excited about the life of the Spirit of Faith that quickens them spiritually despite the daily challenges they encounter in the course of preaching the Gospel.

Best of all, they are confident that these daily challenges that they suffer will bring them a far more greater weight of glory in exchange. In deed, no wonder the Bible says "If we suffer with Christ, we shall also reign with him" Have you endured any suffering because you are labouring to bring the Gospel to souls that might otherwise be lost? Have you endured any embarrassing situations? Have you taking dangerous journeys for the sake of the Kingdom? What have you exposed yourself to because you value your Christian faith?

MEDITATION:
* For you have been given the privilege of serving Christ, not only by believing in him, but also by suffering for him.* ( Philippians 1:29 (GNB))
