The Spirit of Faith

*DAILY DEW 25TH/JANUARY/2021*

*The Spirit of Faith*

_Key Bible Text:_
*Throughout our lives we are always in danger of death for Jesus' sake, in order that his life may be seen in this mortal body of ours. This means that death is at work in us, but life is at work in you. The scripture says, "I spoke because I believed." In the same SPIRIT OF FAITH we also speak because we believe.* (2 Cor. 4:11-13)

_Bible Insight:_
We must understand the awesome, winsome person of the Holy Spirit, by studying all His wonderful attributes and dimensions. The same Holy Spirit takes different names, which all point at His different unique dimensions. An example is the "Spirit of Faith". Other lovely example of names ascribed to this Most Wonderful Personality on Earth, are Spirit of Christ (Rom 8:9); Spirit of Truth (John 14:17); Spirit of Holiness (Rom 1:4); Spirit of Wisdom (Ephesians 1:17); and of course the others mentioned in Isaiah 11:2.

This Spirit of Faith captures our attention today. In our text today, we find that the Spirit of Faith makes us confess or express what we believe. We need to pay attention to what they were speaking by the Spirit of Faith. Yes, they could confess that they must possess their possessions or that they must make it. However, they didn't do that in our text today. Their focus was rather on their selfless lifestyle of laying down their lives for the building up of the faith of fellow believers.

Listen to their kind of confessions: *"Throughout our lives we are always in danger of death for Jesus' sake, in order that his life may be seen in this mortal body of ours. This means that death is at work in us, but life is at work in you."* You don't see these kinds of confessions often lately. No. But why is that? Have we lost our focus? Or have we lost our understanding of the most important purpose of the Holy Spirit who gives us faith?

The Apostle Paul understood and confessed that by the Spirit of Faith they are sure that they would be resurrected even as they lived daily in the danger death for the sake of Jesus. In other words, they had no doubt that they wouldn't work for Jesus for nothing. They wouldn't die for the sake of the Gospel for nothing. This they believed, this they lived, this they taught and confessed.

MEDITATION:
*For we which live are alway delivered unto death for Jesus' sake, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our mortal flesh.* (2 Corinthians 4:11 (KJV))
