CHRIST DROPOUTS
*DAILY DEW 28TH/FEBRUARY/2021*
*CHRIST DROPOUTS*
_Key Bible Text:_
*Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron* (1 Timothy 4:1-2 (KJV))
_Bible Insight:_
Dropping out means leaving high school, college, university or another group for practical reasons, necessities, or disillusionment with the system from which the individual in question leaves, according to Wikipedia. Again, a dropout is someone who has left school or college before they have finished their studies. Who then is a Christ dropout? Two classes of definition come to mind: 1. A believer who loses his focus, turning to mere methods and doctrines without focusing on Jesus Christ as the orbit around which he lives, thrives and operates. 2. One who denies Christ, one who backslides or one who embraces apostasy.
You must know, the first meaning of Christ dropouts usually graduates to the second meaning as reflected above. The second class can actually happen even to a "church goer". But let's focus on the first meaning ascribed to the term "Christ Dropouts". How many believers actually live their lives focused on the teachings and example of Christ?
For instance, sometimes we can be so focused on making heaven that we forget or hardly talk about "making Christ". What does that even mean? It simply means, becoming like Christ. You can so emphasize heaven and still miss out on the best that God has in store for you, but you can't over-emphasize Christ. You can't be so Christ focused, and miss out on heaven. Christ centeredness guarantees both heaven at the end and a life of supernatural results and fulfilment on earth. Christ centeredness is godliness which when we practice has a promise for this life and in the next to come.
MEDITATION:
*Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children; And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.* (Ephesians 5:1-2 (GNB))
