HOPE

*DAILY DEW 9TH/FEBRUARY/2021*

*HOPE*

_Key Bible Text:_
*“And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity."* (1 Corinthians 13:13)
_Bible Insight:_
This scripture is very popular among believers and when it is being read or analyzed, the focus most of the time is on charity/love and faith. There is no dispute that love is the greatest commandment Matthew 22 : 37-40 and faith is the evidence of things not seen (Hebrews 11:1)

But what about HOPE???
I know some of us think that hope is not scriptural or that it is not as “ghen ghen” as faith and love. However, I want us to think about it this way. Do we honestly think that the Bible would go to great lengths to mention hope if it wasn’t important to our journey as Christians? Just asking and I want us to chew on this for a little bit.

As Christians, we may sometimes get to a place in our journeys when we have “loved God right” and “applied our faith” to the later but we still feel a little off or worn out or we feel like our backs are literally placed against the wall. What about the times when we feel like nothing seems to be working or even going the way you thought it would or had planned it to be?

The essence of this devotional today is to remind us that at these kinds of times, it is HOPE that keeps us. When we face difficulties and we have done all that we know to do to keep afloat and still feel like we are sinking, I present you with a livewire that will keep you connected to the love of and faith in God. The Bible says "HOPE that maketh not ashamed…" Rom 5:5 KJV and because of this we know that regardless of what happens, we have faith that our loving Father will not leave nor forsake us. This is the confidence that we have, he has heard us and that we are wholly loved of the Father.

David said in Psa. 119 : 116 KJV “uphold me according unto they word, that I may live: and let me not be ashamed of my hope.” He prayed this prayer and God answered him and we all know that David never experienced the shame of losing a battle although he fought many battles. Always remember this, HOPE steadies you when thing get rocky, be sure to hold on to it.

MEDITATION
*Hymn: My hope is built on nothing less than Jesus’ blood and righteousness; I dare not trust the sweetest frame but wholly lean on Jesus’ name. On Christ the Solid Rock I stand all other ground is sinking sand, all other ground is sinking sand.*
