*CHRIST DROPOUTS* (2)

_Key Bible Text:Now
*Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him. But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe to the saving of the soul.* (Hebrews 10:38-39 (KJV))
_Bible Insight:_
Losing your faith (i.e to deny Christ, become an apostate) or losing your focus on Christ (i.e. to allow worldliness, and distractions) are the two ways one can become a Christ Dropout. The more important thing however is how to not ever become a Christ dropout. Remembering that it is actually possible to drop out of the institute of Christ-likeness is key. However, even more important is staying focused on how to make distinction in this institute of Christ-likeness.

The A-Student or high flyer in school is not really bothered about failure but about being average. All through both my primary and secondary school, my fear was never that I would fail. Rather, my fear was coming second, or anything other than first. Likewise, in the institute of Christ-likeness, the goal is not to coast or fly so low as towards not losing your faith or towards not becoming worldly. The goal is to stay so focused and in hot pursuit of the highest level of Christ-likeness.

The strategy to never become a Christ dropout is to never be complacent about your walk of faith. Your high priority focus at all times must be how you can become MORE like Christ, (cause there will always be room for improvement). Your primary business should not be just being okay doing as other good Christians are doing. Your primary business is not just trying enough to show that you are better than unbelievers.

Your primary business should be to be more and more like Christ without any limit. Just as high flying students focus on strategies for first class, so must believers focus on becoming the best example of Christ there can be-- not example of their spiritual mentors, spiritual fathers, pastors, Bishops etc. Only Christ, must hold our focus.

MEDITATION:
*Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds.* (Hebrews 12:2-3 (KJV))
