*I STRUGGLED WITH MASTURBATION*

*I don't do the good I want to do; instead, I do the evil that I do not want to do. If I do what I don't want to do, this means that I am no longer the one who does it; instead, it is the sin that lives in me. What an unhappy man I am! Who will rescue me from this body that is taking me to death?* (Romans 7:19-20,24 (GNB))

_Bible Insight:_
Rules and regulations are good, but they cannot cure sin. Sin is built into the human fabric. The Jews had the best set of rules and regulations in the world. But they went from bad to worse. The laws couldn't change them, but succeeded in showing them how sinful they were, and this pointed to one fact: everyone needs a Saviour. 

What destroys sin is the power of the Holy Spirit. You want to deal with sin? Introduce the Holy Spirit to the situation. It is the supply of the Spirit that takes care of sin and its power. You can struggle all you want with sin, but until you learn to yield to the Holy Spirit, you won't make significant progress. That was the problem with the man in Romans 7. He had not the Spirit!

I struggled with masturbation when I was younger. I was already born again, but I still found myself going back to this bad habit. I struggled by myself for a long time till I found rest. I overcame this habit as I fed voraciously on the Word. The Holy Spirit began to teach me who I am in Christ. He began to help me walk in victory. I discovered a divine power on my inside that made me detest the habit.

*DAILY DEW 24TH/DECEMBER/2021* *TRUSTING AGAINST ALL ODDS* _Key Bible Text:_ *"Though he slay me, yet will I trust in him: but I will maintain mine own ways before him."* (Job 13:15 (KJV))  _Bible Insight:_ It's an uphill task trying to understand God's plan, especially when we can't make logical sense of what we see happening to and around us. But we aren't instructed to understand His plans, but to TRUST HIM and be secure in the knowledge that He's working everything to ultimately turn out for our good.  God won't mismanage your life. Trust Him with it and be willing and quick to obey His instructions even when they don't fit into your parameter of what's logical.
