*LESSONS FROM NUMBERS 32*

_Key Bible Text:_
*The tribes of Reuben and Gad had a lot of livestock. When they saw how suitable the land of Jazer and Gilead was for cattle, they went to Moses, Eleazar, and the other leaders of the community and said, "Please give us this land as our property, and do not make us cross the Jordan River and settle there."*
 (Numbers 32:1-3,5 (GNB))

_Bible Insight:_
You will need to look up what transpired in the Book of Numbers chapter 31, so that you will better appreciate the current chapter under study. Suffice it to say that in Numbers 31, the Lord led the people of Israel to conquer the Midianites who had occupied the lands of Jazer and Gilead. It was a sweet victory. They took both human and valuable properties as spoils of war. 

In Numbers 32, the tribes of Reuben and Gad observed that the portion of land in question was good for cattle rearing and they had a lot of cattle. So they requested of Moses to allow them to occupy the land as their portion and possession. They did not want to miss this opportunity and so they quickly took steps to acquire it. They do not want the portions of land that was at the other side of river Jordan.

The lesson here is for one to be quick in taking steps to acquire what you believe suits your purpose and need. Do not be too fearful or indecisive that you can't make a decision and move towards the object of your decision when the time is ripe. The only check you must have, is to be sure God is in it. 

A lot of people live through life uncertain about what they need and want from life. Don't be like that. Have a clear purpose. If God blesses you with a million naira, what would you do with it? If God blesses you with a big client, how would you manage them? If you get that long desired opportunity, what would you do with it?

*Understanding the opportunities that life throws at us at every point in time and making the most of them, is important if we must fulfill purpose*

*DAILY DEW 24TH/DECEMBER/2021* *TRUSTING AGAINST ALL ODDS* _Key Bible Text:_ *"Though he slay me, yet will I trust in him: but I will maintain mine own ways before him."* (Job 13:15 (KJV))  _Bible Insight:_ It's an uphill task trying to understand God's plan, especially when we can't make logical sense of what we see happening to and around us. But we aren't instructed to understand His plans, but to TRUST HIM and be secure in the knowledge that He's working everything to ultimately turn out for our good.  God won't mismanage your life. Trust Him with it and be willing and quick to obey His instructions even when they don't fit into your parameter of what's logical.
