*NUMBERS 32 LESSONS: DON'T REPEAT THE ERROR OF THE PAST*

*This included everyone, except Caleb son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite and Joshua son of Nun; they remained loyal to the LORD. The LORD became angry with the people and made them wander in the wilderness forty years until that whole generation that had displeased him was dead.*

*_Bible Insight:_*
Regretting the pain of the past is not useful. It is wiser to refuse to repeat the error of the past. Actually, it was not for 20 years that the children of Israel wasted wandering in the wilderness. It was not for 30 years. It was for 40 solid years. God ensured that an entire generation was wiped out. Moses ensured to rehash the event of the past and its painful consequences in order to ensure that the children of Reuben and Gad do not suffer their own generation to repeat the same fate. 

Moses himself would probably had wished he played a better role in helping to guide the first generation that missed the earlier opportunity. He was not going to take chances again. Hence he made sure he stressed his point. Loyalty to God means that we do not try to use our sense where he has already laid the rule. Loyalty to God means that even when God is not making sense, we still follow His lead. 

Do not watch anyone you know repeat a wrong method, wrong idea, follow a wrong path, or indulge in a bad decision, as long as you can do something to warn them of its danger. Never be afraid to share your own experience if perhaps you will at least use your story to guide another aright. There is no shame in sharing a negative past if there can arise a positive lesson therefrom. Don't shy away from using what you are not quite proud of to help somebody become a better person.

*DAILY DEW 24TH/DECEMBER/2021* *TRUSTING AGAINST ALL ODDS* _Key Bible Text:_ *"Though he slay me, yet will I trust in him: but I will maintain mine own ways before him."* (Job 13:15 (KJV))  _Bible Insight:_ It's an uphill task trying to understand God's plan, especially when we can't make logical sense of what we see happening to and around us. But we aren't instructed to understand His plans, but to TRUST HIM and be secure in the knowledge that He's working everything to ultimately turn out for our good.  God won't mismanage your life. Trust Him with it and be willing and quick to obey His instructions even when they don't fit into your parameter of what's logical.
