DON'T WASTE THE WAIT

*DAILY DEW 24TH/APRIL/2021*

*DON'T WASTE THE WAIT*

_Key Bible Text:_
*Jacob's well was there, and Jesus, tired out by the trip, sat down by the well. It was about noon. A Samaritan woman came to draw some water, and Jesus said to her, "Give me a drink of water." (His disciples had gone into town to buy food.)* (John 4:6-8 (GNB))

_Bible Insight:_
Jesus needed to wait for his disciples to get about buying some food for them. He waited at Jacob's well. They have been on a journey to Jerusalem and they needed to pass through Samaria. While his disciples were away, Jesus was all by Himself. However, he did not just wait for his disciples to come back with the food. He ensured that the waiting was not wasted. Hence he engaged a Samaritan woman. As she arrived at the well, probably to do her daily routine of fetching water, Jesus made a request of her "Give me a drink of water."

In the various seasons of life, there is one which we do not usually enjoy but must always confront- The waiting seasons of life. Everyone has got a waiting season. Some are waiting for a better job. Some are waiting for promotion. Some are waiting for a better government or a change of government policy. Lawyers in Nigeria are waiting for the courts to resume. Judiciary is waiting for a greater autonomy to be ascribed to them. There is always a waiting season in life for everyone.

The real issue is, how do we use the  waiting periods!? What do we do when we are waiting for any kind of change? One thing that usually comes with waiting, most times, is that feeling that you are left behind. There is the feeling that you are alone just as Jesus was alone at the well. This feeling of loneliness can make the wait seem very hard on us. The feeling that everyone else is "happening" while you are are just waiting. This feeling is a fallacy. You're never alone.

Engage the waiting seasons of life. Don't waste it. Don't sit sulking in self pity. *Don't pause everything else in your life because of an aspect of your life that you're waiting for a change.* Don't pause your happiness because of what you're waiting to happen. Don't be overwhelmed with self centered ideas and style of living because of what you are wishing & waiting for. Like Jesus, engage others and other aspects of your life. Ask help from people if you must. Help others in ways you can. Develop other aspects of your life. Don't just wait. Don't waste the wait. Utilize it to the maximum.

MEDITATION:
*If a man die, shall he live again? All the days of my appointed time will I wait, till my change come.* (Job 14:14 (KJV))
