IT IS MIDNIGHT
*DAILY DEW 20TH/APRIL/2021*
*IT IS MIDNIGHT*
_Key Bible Text:_
*And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them.* (Acts 16:25 (KJV))
*_Bible Insight:_*
Midnight hours are usually known for sleep or danger or secrecy or hidden hard work. It is also known for hidden tears or prayers and praises. Whatever the case, midnight hours can either be productive or destructive. It depends on what we do. When midnight hours represent hours of trials and despair, we can either choose to focus on how glorious the morning will be or how hopeless the night is.
At midnight, Paul and Silas rather than sulk and regret their preaching Christ, decided to sing and pray so much that other prisoners heard them. Oh, God, what are we doing in the midnight hours of life? Everyone has got their midnight seasons of life. We can choose to stand and see the salvation of the Lord or we lose faith and give up.
It is actually hard and painful going through the midnight seasons of life, clouded with self pity and heart breaks. One wonders what God has in store for one and why such painful processes? Must God take Jesus to and through the cross? Must trusting God involves dealing with pains? Why does the Holy Spirit fruit include longsuffering? Why must good soldiers of Christ endure hardness? Why must a grain of seed die before it reproduces? Why must death inflicting pain be the process of birthing a baby?
Oh that we can still pray and sing in the midnight seasons of the prison of life!
MEDITATION:
*"Say to those who are brokenhearted, Do not lose your faith, The Lord your God, Is strong with his loving arms, When you call on His name, He will come and save." -- Don Moen (He will come and save you)*
