NUMBERS 32 LESSONS: BE FLEXIBLE

*NUMBERS 32 LESSONS: BE FLEXIBLE*

_Key Bible Text:_
*"Moses answered, *If you really mean what you say, then here in the presence of the LORD get ready to go into battle. All your fighting men are to cross the Jordan and under the command of the LORD they are to attack our enemies until the LORD defeats them and takes possession of the land."* (Numbers 32:20-22 (GNB))

*_Bible Insight:_*
Moses had issued warnings to the people of Israel. They can't afford to repeat a mistake with a 40-year consequence. Yet, the Children of Gad and Reuben have shown maturity. They have accepted to do both the fighting and the taking of the land east of Jordan. Moses accepted the proposal on the condition that they keep their word.

Sometimes, the answer lies in a hybrid approach. You may not be able to school full time again but you can both do the schooling part time while you still work. The error is when you think you don't need a formal education anymore because you're already making so much money meanwhile, you have not gotten any education save a secondary school education.

When I was preparing for my waec & jamb papers back in the days. There was so much to cover within a short time. Doing the home chores became almost like a barrier to one's studies. I could have insisted that I was not going to touch any work at home again. I could have claimed that I just want to focus and read my books. But instead, I chose a hybrid approach. To both do my duties at home and at the same time fulfill my obligation to study my book and pass my exams.

Moses was flexible. The children of Gad & Reuben were equally flexible. While keeping your eyes on the target, be flexible. Only remember that the hybrid or flexible approach, sometimes, usually meant that more work and more labour will be done. Don't insist on your own way and approach all the time. Listen to others too, and take a more holistic approach that is a win-win.

MEDITATION:
*"Be clear about your goal but be flexible about the process of achieving it." ~ Brian Tracy
