*NUMBERS 32 LESSONS: FAILURE IS NOT AN ACCIDENT*

_Key Bible Text:_
*"And now you have taken your ancestors' place, a new generation of sinful people ready to bring down the fierce anger of the LORD on Israel again. If you people of Reuben and Gad refuse to follow him now, he will once again abandon all these people in the wilderness, and you will be responsible for their destruction."*
(Numbers 32:14-15 (GNB))

*_Bible Insight:_*
Tommy Newberry wrote a book and he titled it, "Success is not an Accident". Well, it is also important to note that the flip side of that statement is equally true. Failure is not an accident. You don't accidentally fail. You are a critical part of the plot that ends in a failure. In today's text, we see the certainty with which Moses issued his warning *"If you people of Reuben and Gad refuse to follow him now, he will once again abandon all these people in the wilderness, and you will be responsible for their destruction"*

Every decision has its corresponding consequences. Every action, its corresponding outcome. You really can't eat your cake and have it. Let me give it to you in another way *"If you plant in the field of your natural desires, from it you will gather the harvest of death; if you plant in the field of the Spirit, from the Spirit you will gather the harvest of eternal life."* (Gal 6:8 GNB)

Moses was clear about it. God is clear about it. Deuteronomy 30:19 (KJV) brings the message: *"I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:"*

You don't just end up a failure. String of decisions you make bring you to that point of failure. Likewise, if you make a different kind of choices, you will get better. You choose!

MEDITATION:
*"No one plans to become mediocre. Rather, mediocrity is the result of no plan at all. Let me give you a simple but true formula: If you want to lead an extraordinary life, find out what the ordinary do—and don’t do it."* - Tommy Newberry
