NUMBERS 32 LESSONS: GO BEYOND THE CONVENIENT
*DAILY DEW 4TH/APRIL/2021*
*NUMBERS 32 LESSONS: GO BEYOND THE CONVENIENT*
_Key Bible Text:_
*"We will not return to our homes until all the other Israelites have taken possession of the land assigned to them. We will not take possession of any property among them on the other side of the Jordan, because we have received our share here east of the Jordan."*
(Numbers 32:18-19 (GNB))
*_Bible Insight:_*
While we can observe the win-win approach proposed by then Children of Gad and Reuben, it is important to note also how inconvenient it must have been for them. It was a rather selfless approach. It would have been more convenient for them to settle in and forget about the rest of the people.
But that would have been both selfish and foolish as it could bring upon them the judgement of God.
In making decisions, it is important we come up with selfless proposals and decisions. As a matter of fact, the way to fulfillment in life is to strive to add value to the lives of others.Hence, in our personal decision making process, there should be a third eye that considers how favourably the intended decision will affect other key persons in your life. When we do this, most times, we would end up coming up with decisions that would not necessarily always be convenient or comfortable but they will be more impactful on the long run.
Always remember, it is not always about you. It is also about how what concerns you, affects others. Living for the convenient is a self limiting life that end up backfiring on one. If God lived for himself, this world would not have been created. If God lives for himself, Christ would not have been sent to this world. If Christ lived for himself, he would never have died, because he wouldn't have come to this world in the first place. See!? How can you then continue to live for self? Don't live for self, only small people do so.
MEDITATION:
*"Small people think only and always about themselves. As far as they are concerned, others can die if they like. Such people never amount to much in life. They die small."* - David Joshua Egbochuo
