*NUMBERS 32 LESSONS: AN ILLUSTRATION OF MISSIONS*

_Key Bible Text:_
*"All your fighting men are to cross the Jordan and under the command of the LORD they are to attack our enemies until the LORD defeats them and takes possession of the land. After that, you may return, because you will have fulfilled your obligation to the LORD and to the other Israelites. Then the LORD will acknowledge that this land east of the Jordan is yours"* (Numbers 32:21-22 (GNB))

*_Bible Insight:_*
This is almost a vivid illustration of missions. We cross other nations and lands to preach the Gospel because we truly have not secured our place in Christ if we are not helping others come to the light of the Gospel. It is in reaching and teaching others, that we are established and secured in our own salvation. We do not grow or become established in the faith by selfishly focusing on our own salvation alone. 

As the children of Gad and Reuben must cross over the Jordan river to fight for their brethren, so must those of us who are already saved, take the risk and take the Gospel to those who are unreached and unsaved. This is also what it means to fight the good fight of faith--unfortunately it is not the common type. We can't rest until all whom the Lord has appointed to salvation is saved. But how shall they call on the Lord whom they know not unless we teach them? 

Missions reminds us to "cross over". Missions is cross-cultural. It challenges us to learn new cultures, languages and environment. Missions challenges us to think beyond home evangelism and also do foreign evangelism. Short missions outreaches are a good way to have a taste of missions exposure. There are a couple of missions agency that organize such, one of them is Revival CORPS. 

Look for an opportunity to expose yourself to a short missions outreach. Challenge your faith. Think about the global body of Christ. You will see a bigger and better picture and develop more passion for the lost when you throw yourself out of your comfort zone. It is by so doing you see your own salvation more clearly and secure it more firmly. Amen.

*DAILY DEW 24TH/DECEMBER/2021* *TRUSTING AGAINST ALL ODDS* _Key Bible Text:_ *"Though he slay me, yet will I trust in him: but I will maintain mine own ways before him."* (Job 13:15 (KJV))  _Bible Insight:_ It's an uphill task trying to understand God's plan, especially when we can't make logical sense of what we see happening to and around us. But we aren't instructed to understand His plans, but to TRUST HIM and be secure in the knowledge that He's working everything to ultimately turn out for our good.  God won't mismanage your life. Trust Him with it and be willing and quick to obey His instructions even when they don't fit into your parameter of what's logical.
