*WHAT GOD NEEDS FROM MAN*

*"And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.* (Luke 9:23 (KJV)) 

*_Bible Insight:_*
YOU DON'T follow Jesus from a distance. I remember how Peter tried to do so, the night before Jesus was crucified. Peter ended up lying and denying Jesus three good times. He was shocked himself. He had been warned and he didn't believe he could falter so much. Well, good news was that he repented. The lesson however includes that if we must follow Jesus, we should be ready to follow Him how he needs us to follow Him and not how we think we should. 

We can't change God's rule to suit the world's expectations and experience. That would be an abomination. Peter tried to "belong"  where he does not and he attempted to meet the world's expectations. Alas, with each effort he made, he found himself lying and cursing. If we are not ready to follow Christ on His own terms, then we are not ready at all. 

We can't do life as we wish and deceive ourselves that we are followers of Christ! We either follow in God's terms or we are not ready.
I believe in the end, those who purport to follow Christ, but deny his power by choosing what to agree with and what to modify or disagree with, are only following a script that the scripture has already warned us that many would follow. Stop looking to the world to tell you how to follow Christ. If you have decided that Christ is the way to live, then live only for Christ and by Christ.

In answering this, we need to understand that it is the death and resurrection of Jesus on the cross that gives the cross its power.  "1. *DAILY DEW 24TH/DECEMBER/2021* *TRUSTING AGAINST ALL ODDS* _Key Bible Text:_ *"Though he slay me, yet will I trust in him: but I will maintain mine own ways before him."* (Job 13:15 (KJV))  _Bible Insight:_ It's an uphill task trying to understand God's plan, especially when we can't make logical sense of what we see happening to and around us. But we aren't instructed to understand His plans, but to TRUST HIM and be secure in the knowledge that He's working everything to ultimately turn out for our good.  God won't mismanage your life. Trust Him with it and be willing and quick to obey His instructions even when they don't fit into your parameter of what's logical.
