*NATION BUILDING & PRAYERS*

_Key Bible Text:_
*And seek the peace of the city whither I have caused you to be carried away captives, and pray unto the LORD for it: for in the peace thereof shall ye have peace.* (Jeremiah 29:7 (KJV))

_Bible Insight:_
Several people always argue that prayer has nothing to do with good governance, infrastructural development and socioeconomic well being of a country. The arguments are usually supported by citing several non-godly or non- religious countries of the world that  have achieved significant development and international reputation without asking her citizens to pray. 


One argument, has it that "our cultural system over emphasizes prayers and it is leading us to destruction already. It has made our people unusually lazy and unintelligent. Eiffel Tower, 3 Gorges dams of China, Burj Dubai, Suez Canal, Gotthard base Tunnel, Big Dig were all built with brains and not prayers." One may hear this and think something deep and wise is being said.

Well, you need to know that nothing deep or wise is contained in any attempt to deemphasize or misconstrue the role of prayer in nation building. However the troubling question remains, what of the prayers we have made in time past and are still making today? Can we say that there is a positive difference that prayer brings to national situations? I believe the answer remains in the positive.

In answering this, we need to understand that it is the death and resurrection of Jesus on the cross that gives the cross its power.  "1. *DAILY DEW 24TH/DECEMBER/2021* *TRUSTING AGAINST ALL ODDS* _Key Bible Text:_ *"Though he slay me, yet will I trust in him: but I will maintain mine own ways before him."* (Job 13:15 (KJV))  _Bible Insight:_ It's an uphill task trying to understand God's plan, especially when we can't make logical sense of what we see happening to and around us. But we aren't instructed to understand His plans, but to TRUST HIM and be secure in the knowledge that He's working everything to ultimately turn out for our good.  God won't mismanage your life. Trust Him with it and be willing and quick to obey His instructions even when they don't fit into your parameter of what's logical.
