*THE DYNAMICS OF RIGHTEOUSNESS* (III)
_Key Bible Text:_
*"But God be thanked, that ye were the SERVANTS OF SIN, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you.
Being then made free from sin, ye became the SERVANTS OF RIGHTEOUSNESS.”*
(Romans 6:17-18 (KJV))
_Bible Insight:_
Breaking News:- From "Servants of Sin" to "Servants of Righteousness"! You should read that again! Ladies and gentlemen, you must serve either but not both-- Sin or Righteousness! Let's back track! What did Jesus do again? He brought us abundance of grace and the gift of righteousness! Remember Romans 5:17? Right? Right.
You must understand that before we met Christ, we were slaves or servants of sin. We had no choice. We were at the command of sin. Unrighteousness was our house address. *"Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God."* (Romans 8:7-8 (KJV))
We didn't have the capacity to please God, because we were in the flesh until Christ met us. After Christ met us, brethren, the game changed. We became another specie of beings- from born of flesh to born of the Spirit. *"Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever."* (1 Peter 1:23 (KJV)) Hallelujah!
Oh, I might just say this again differently. *"as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God."* (John 1:12-13 (KJV)) By now, it should be clearer. So we have the power to become the sons of God, who are no longer slaves to sin but now slaves to righteousness.
Who ever got the power and doesn't use it? Count me out on that! I'm going to use the power. Amen!
MEDITATION:
*Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?:* (Romans 6:16 (KJV))
