*YOU HOLD THE KEY- STIR IT UP*
_Key Bible Text:_
*"Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou STIR UP THE GIFT OF GOD, which is in thee by the putting on of my hands. For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind."* (2 Timothy 1:6-7 (KJV))
_Bible Insight:_
I made a cup of tea with some honey added to it. When I tasted it, I couldn't realize or relish the taste of the things added to the tea. Then, I had to stir the tea for a while. Thereafter, the glory of the taste of the tea became apparent. In that moment, the above scripture pulled out from a corner of my spirit. The meaning of the scripture became crystal clear.
Until you stir up the gifts of God in your life, you will never taste the glory of the power of God. Until you stir up the grace that God had imputed in your life and calling, you will remain small and uneventful. Your life will be tasteless as far as your spiritual growth and greatness is concerned if you don't stir up the gifts of God in your life.
Stir up the gift of God in your life. The moment you were born again, God implanted certain gifts into your life with or without laying of hands. Some persons, have more gifting than others. However having the gift is not as important as stirring up the gift. A lot of believers achieve far below their God given capacity because they fail to stir up.
You stir up the gifts of God, by "shaking" yourself. To shake yourself is to apply yourself. You apply yourself to spiritual disciplines and practices as a matter of habit. When you don't habitually exercise your gifts, you will never maximize nor realize their purposes. Remember the servant with the one talent who buried it and never used it. He paid dearly for his negligence and laziness at the end.
*MEDITATION:*
*Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God; Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began* (2 Timothy 1:8-9 (KJV))
