*Change Your Perspective* (II)

_Key Bible Text:_
*Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.*
(Galatians 5:1 (KJV))

_Bible Insight:_

A few persons in history, gave this portion of scripture or its like, a literal interpretation. They had such strong perspective of this message, that it was exceptionally inscribed in their lifestyle. One of such outstanding figures was a woman of great capacity and gift, by name Harriet Tubman (a name she picked for herself, after she escaped slavery where she was named Araminta Harriet Ross, and was nicknamed “Minty” by her parents) 

Harriet Tubman escaped slavery to become a leading abolitionist. She led hundreds of enslaved people to freedom along the route of the Underground Railroad. Born into slavery in Maryland, Harriet Tubman escaped to freedom in the North in 1849 to become the most famous "conductor" on the Underground Railroad. Tubman risked her life to lead hundreds of family members and other slaves from the plantation system to freedom on this elaborate secret network of safe houses. A leading abolitionist before the American Civil War, Tubman also helped the Union Army during the war, working as a spy among other roles.

After the Civil War ended, Tubman dedicated her life to helping impoverished former slaves and the elderly. In honor of her life and by popular demand, in 2016, the U.S. Treasury Department announced that Tubman will replace Andrew Jackson on the center of a new $20 bill.

What stands out for me, about this colored and extremely unique lady, whose exploits were well captured in the recent 2019 movie, called _Harriet_ , was her reasoning or perspective:- *"I had reasoned this out in my mind, there was one of two things I had a right to, liberty or death; if I could not have one, I would have the other"* 

MEDITATION:
*The believer is called to live and stand in the divine liberty Christ had won for us through His death and resurrection. We must never allow the little pursuits of this life keep us in bondage to mundane, temporary ambitions that do not profit the soul nor yield eternal rewards*

*DAILY DEW 2ND/DECEMBER/2021* *As Jesus or As yourself?* _Key Bible Text:_ * A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.* (John 13:34 (KJV)) _Bible Insight:_ One of the most outstanding things about the Christmas season is the birth of Christ. While we must remember or even celebrate this blessed season, we must never forget the spirit behind God's move and decision in sending His son Jesus. The answer to the why of Jesus' coming to earth is simply, LOVE. John 3:16 may have been abused but it cannot be overused or overemphasized. Jesus is God's decision born out of love. "For God so loved", he couldn't help but "gave His only begotten son". And even that had a reason, "that whosoever believes in Him, should not perish but have everlasting life". What's Your Focus?*

*DAILY DEW 19TH/JULY/2021* *What's Your Focus?*  _Key Bible Text:_ *For as he thinks in his heart, so is he. As one who reckons, he says to you, eat and drink, yet his heart is not with you [but is grudging the cost].* (Proverbs 23:7 (AMP))  _Bible Insight:_ I’ve learnt one thing in life so far: what you focus on somehow expands. Focus on your business, invest your thoughts and imaginations on how to grow it, talk about it with your spouse and friends; and gradually but surely, it will expand.  On the other hand, spend your time on every gist in town and watch the uselessness of your life expand. You will know more gists and gossips and, by the law of attraction, you will attract people like you and your life will nosedive or at best stagnate.  The human mind is powerful to the extent that we focus and whether the focus is to the left or the right, your mind does not care.
