*KEEPING THE BODY BALANCED* (IV)

*There is no fear of God before their eyes.* (Romans 3:18 (KJV))

_Bible Insight:_

The love of God vs the fear of God

I was shocked when a dear friend claimed that the New Testament focused more on the love of God than the fear of God. In fact in his exact words, *"God never talked about being feared in the New Testament but love the Lord your God...love is required of us not fear anymore..."* 

That innocent but unfounded statement actually provoked me to pay more attention on the subject. I can easily see how half truths like that, eat deep into the fabric of the modern church creating imbalance and immaturity in the body of Christ. This must be expressly corrected and the truth laid bare. 

In 2 Corinthians 7:1 (KJV), it says,  *"Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God."* 

Also in Philippians 2:12 (KJV), it says *"Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling."* 

There are other reference to fearing God, which is used to refer to a reverential honor that we ascribe to God and His word out of love. We must never forget that because God loves us, and we love him in return does not mean we fear him no more but that we love and fear (reverence) him at the same time. 

_MEDITATION:_
*How do you not fear this God that is as great as He is? The more of God you know, the more you realize a glorious reference for Him. You can't truly know God, and not live in awe of His being*

*DAILY DEW 24TH/DECEMBER/2021* *TRUSTING AGAINST ALL ODDS* _Key Bible Text:_ *"Though he slay me, yet will I trust in him: but I will maintain mine own ways before him."* (Job 13:15 (KJV))  _Bible Insight:_ It's an uphill task trying to understand God's plan, especially when we can't make logical sense of what we see happening to and around us. But we aren't instructed to understand His plans, but to TRUST HIM and be secure in the knowledge that He's working everything to ultimately turn out for our good.  God won't mismanage your life. Trust Him with it and be willing and quick to obey His instructions even when they don't fit into your parameter of what's logical.
