*WELCOME TO MISSIONS* (III)

_Key Bible Text:_
*If thou forbear to deliver them that are drawn unto death, and those that are ready to be slain; If thou sayest, Behold, we knew it not; doth not he that pondereth the heart consider it? and he that keepeth thy soul, doth not he know it? and shall not he render to every man according to his works?* (Proverbs 24:11-12 (KJV)) 

_Bible Insight:_

There are business men here and each one has his own business enterprise. Now there is one department in your business that you look upon as more important than any other department. Where then do you put most of your surplus money? Why, into that most important department, of course. Why do you do that? Because you want to develop the most important department of your business enterprise. So it is with missions. 

If world evangelism is the most important work of the church, then we should put most of our money into this most important department. Otherwise, we do not put missions first and we do not believe that world evangelization is the supreme task of the church. I find very few ministers and believers who really believe that the evangelization of the world is their most important work. 

This leads me to say that every church should spend more on missions than it spends on itself. That is only logical. If we believe that world evangelization comes first, then we should invest more money in the region beyond than we use for ourselves here at home.

*“But,” you ask, “what about your church? What about The Peoples Church in Toronto of which you are Pastor? Does your church send more to the foreign field than it spends on itself?” I am glad to be able to say that there never has been a year since I have been Pastor of The Peoples Church when we have used anything like as much on ourselves at home as we have sent to the foreign fields of earth.*

*DAILY DEW 2ND/DECEMBER/2021* *As Jesus or As yourself?* _Key Bible Text:_ * A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.* (John 13:34 (KJV)) _Bible Insight:_ One of the most outstanding things about the Christmas season is the birth of Christ. While we must remember or even celebrate this blessed season, we must never forget the spirit behind God's move and decision in sending His son Jesus. The answer to the why of Jesus' coming to earth is simply, LOVE. John 3:16 may have been abused but it cannot be overused or overemphasized. Jesus is God's decision born out of love. "For God so loved", he couldn't help but "gave His only begotten son". And even that had a reason, "that whosoever believes in Him, should not perish but have everlasting life". *DAILY DEW 19TH/JULY/2021* *What's Your Focus?*  _Key Bible Text:_ *For as he thinks in his heart, so is he. As one who reckons, he says to you, eat and drink, yet his heart is not with you [but is grudging the cost].* (Proverbs 23:7 (AMP))  _Bible Insight:_ I’ve learnt one thing in life so far: what you focus on somehow expands. Focus on your business, invest your thoughts and imaginations on how to grow it, talk about it with your spouse and friends; and gradually but surely, it will expand.  On the other hand, spend your time on every gist in town and watch the uselessness of your life expand. You will know more gists and gossips and, by the law of attraction, you will attract people like you and your life will nosedive or at best stagnate.  The human mind is powerful to the extent that we focus and whether the focus is to the left or the right, your mind does not care.
