*WELCOME TO MISSIONS* (VII)

*My dear friends, I was doing my best to write to you about the salvation we share in common, when I felt the need of writing at once to encourage you to fight on for the faith which once and for all God has given to his people.* (Jude 1:3 (GNB)) 

_Bible Insight:_

Suppose I were to gather together a little group of women, a dozen or more, and suppose I were to say to those women, “Now you are to become a Women’s Missionary Society, and your work will be the work of evangelizing the world. That is all you have to do, just evangelize the World.”

What then would I be saying to everyone else and to all the other organizations in the church? I would be saying, “This is not the most important work of the church. It is only a side issue, just one of the many departments of church work. Let these women look after it. They can take care of the evangelization of the world; and the rest of us – those of us who are men – we will do something really worthy of our manhood.”

No, my friends! Every man in my church is a member of the Women’s Missionary Society. And I see to it, as far as possible, that every one of the 120 members of my choir accepts his or her responsibility; that each one of my elders, managers and deacons, more than two hundred, shoulders the burden; that every usher, every Sunday School teacher and officer and every boy or girl, contributes to missions. We do not have the parents give for the children. We teach the children to give for themselves. From the time they are seven years of age, they are taught to give systematically. Then when they grow up we have no trouble with them. They have learned how to give. 

Last year our Sunday School gave $211,000 to Missions. Our Elders gave $90,000 and our Choir $36,000.

This work is far too important to hand over to any one organization. It belongs to the whole church, and when everyone catches the vision and everyone does something, then our goal is reached and our budget met.

*DAILY DEW 2ND/DECEMBER/2021* *As Jesus or As yourself?* _Key Bible Text:_ * A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.* (John 13:34 (KJV)) _Bible Insight:_ One of the most outstanding things about the Christmas season is the birth of Christ. While we must remember or even celebrate this blessed season, we must never forget the spirit behind God's move and decision in sending His son Jesus. The answer to the why of Jesus' coming to earth is simply, LOVE. John 3:16 may have been abused but it cannot be overused or overemphasized. Jesus is God's decision born out of love. "For God so loved", he couldn't help but "gave His only begotten son". And even that had a reason, "that whosoever believes in Him, should not perish but have everlasting life". *DAILY DEW 19TH/JULY/2021* *What's Your Focus?*  _Key Bible Text:_ *For as he thinks in his heart, so is he. As one who reckons, he says to you, eat and drink, yet his heart is not with you [but is grudging the cost].* (Proverbs 23:7 (AMP))  _Bible Insight:_ I’ve learnt one thing in life so far: what you focus on somehow expands. Focus on your business, invest your thoughts and imaginations on how to grow it, talk about it with your spouse and friends; and gradually but surely, it will expand.  On the other hand, spend your time on every gist in town and watch the uselessness of your life expand. You will know more gists and gossips and, by the law of attraction, you will attract people like you and your life will nosedive or at best stagnate.  The human mind is powerful to the extent that we focus and whether the focus is to the left or the right, your mind does not care.
