*When Loving Yourself Is Wrong* 

_Key Bible Text:_
*And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.* (Revelation 12:11 (KJV)) 

_Bible Insight:_

Take a little dose of self love and you will be alright but take an overdose of self love and you're be wrong! 

"...and they loved not their lives unto death"! Wow. No wonder that part of the scripture may not be as popular as the first part of the very same scripture- *"And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony"* However when it comes to dying, we pull the break by reflex. 

The Message translation helped us further- *"They weren't in love with themselves; they were willing to die for Christ."* 

When self love takes priority over what is expected of you in any given situation as a follower of Jesus, you are not a follower but just a fun lover, mistaking church as Christ, while taking the Chris who is probably your old school mate as the Christ! 

Whenever self love prefers personal interest over and against Kingdom interest, it becomes an overdose of self love. If you are striving to be a model of self love (or already one) you can't go far in this kingdom where self must be dethroned. 

_MEDITATION:_
*When Jesus said His followers should love as He himself loves, He made self-love a matter to handle with caution. If Jesus did not save himself from the cross, self love would be unchristian unless limited to a very minimal extent*

*DAILY DEW 2ND/DECEMBER/2021* *As Jesus or As yourself?* _Key Bible Text:_ * A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.* (John 13:34 (KJV)) _Bible Insight:_ One of the most outstanding things about the Christmas season is the birth of Christ. While we must remember or even celebrate this blessed season, we must never forget the spirit behind God's move and decision in sending His son Jesus. The answer to the why of Jesus' coming to earth is simply, LOVE. John 3:16 may have been abused but it cannot be overused or overemphasized. Jesus is God's decision born out of love.
